Zepplins fly freely at the midnight hour

Off in the distance just out of sight where the creepy things creepy and the thumps go bump in the night. This is where darkness roams and your inner demons call home. Feel free shy and frisky fighting a pitbull is awfully risky.
OK now that I've got that out of my system, today has been an incredibly uninventful day. Oscar nominations were probably the most interesting thing of my day. A few questions popped in my mind after the nominees were announced. Where was Eastwoods nomination? How does Bruce Springstein win the golden globe for song but doesn't even get an oscar nomination? And finally Where was the love for Revolutionary Road?
Oh well it will be a fun award show anyway. Hopefully I will have seen all the movies before the awards start getting handed out. I LOVE David Fincher so I desperately need to see Benjamin Button . I need to see Slum Dog millionaire just to see what all the hype is about and also to figure out how a movie with nomination across the board doesn't get a single acting nomination. If the writing was so good as well as direction cinematography and overall film how did none of the actors do well enough for a nomination? Oh well i'll just have to wait and see.

Arizona vs Pittsburgh

Now at the beginning of the season if I had told you this would be the matchup for the big game come February 1st in Tampa I'm pretty sure you would have had me committed.
So after an interesting Sunday of divsion championships, this is what we have been left with. All I can say is congrats to both teams. Arizona had a lot of doubters and even more haters, but in the end they pulled it off. Although I would rather have seen Donovan lead his team onto a title and mad Philly love, but that obviously wasn't meant to be. The Cards have an exsplosive offense with some of the best weapons in all of football. Its going to be fun seeing that offense take on the most stifling D in the league. I'm pretty positive Pittsburgh is going to come out on top. If I'm wrong though it would be very interesting to watch the Cardinals get their first title in 61 years. All I know for certain is I am definitely ready for SUPER SUNDAY to arrive.

American History aka Books and bullshit

I give you The Presidents. These 43 men have shaped and guided this country into what it is today. A land of hope, freedom and opportunity. At least that's what the brochure says right. I mean those principles that our country is supposedly founded upon to this day still eludes some of our citizens. After a little blip on facebook from a dear friend (who amazingly is probably only one of 3 maybe 4 Bush supporters I know... hey don't judge lest ye be judged my supposed tolerate liberal friends) showing excitement for having seen Bush's going away speech it got me thinking about our long history of leaders. As Robert Wuhl so eloquently put in his comedy series on American History "Bad Leadership is as American as APPLE PIE." Oh how i love those specials because the things Mr Wuhl said were so informative and sadly so incredibly true.
Now I'm not going to sit here and do nothing but bash President Bush as there are plenty of sites set out to do that already also I have no interest in praising the almighty President-elect Obama because there are plenty others doing that so prematurely as well. Frankly i probably don't feel what most 27 soon to be 28 year old feel about either one. For starters i don't believe Bush is the worst world leader of all time as I've heard so many people ignorantly say. Oh he's been bad he's lead us down this path of destruction and demise, but WORST ALL TIME. And I'm not gonna pull the what about Hitler bit I'm so sick of every one's comparison of bad to Hitler. Hitler was horrible wretched and despicable and like Bush his greatest sin was PRIDE. Such pride in himself and his people he felt that it was their right for a world to be exactly like them, but dammit it has anyone ever heard of Stalin. I mean he took the shit a step further and not only killed outsiders but insiders as well. Then man had most of his country killed off. I mean fuck its one thing to want your COUNTRY to be the dominate force in the world but to decide you yourself are suppose to be the almighty force is a bit more. So with those people in history I really don't know how Bush is put in the top 20 let alone number 1. I don't see the secret service marching through our streets and shooting everyone who has a negative thought of the leadership in the head like you would have seen in the Stalin Regime.
My Fellow Americans... I love that line... I ask you this why have we decided that President Barack Hussein Obama II, or Benjamin Obama depending on when you knew him, is going to be our almighty savior of American Democracy? I just don't get it. I'm tired of being expected to bow down to the smooth talking democrat since I wasn't a supporter of the stuttering republican. "Well he's a voice for change!" American doesn't need a VOICE for change we need a TOOL of change we need a guarantee that things will improve, and as I've written in the past no ONE MAN can change the way our country runs. Its 2009 our great country will be 233 years old come July 4th . If one person could change how this ship runs if One person can change the course we've been set upon for all those years don't ya think this ship would have been righted by now. I'm sick of being seen as Unamerican or not Patriotic for having views outside of the herd. I'm sorry I see things in front of me clear signs that we are heading to a land of no return. We always see ourselves as a WORLD LEADER. A country that guides the way of the others, but where are we guiding them. We have a horrible economy a faulty economic structure and we are often seen as bullies. The funny thing to me about the bully label is the fact that we haven't won a fight since World War 2 and we had to use a most heinous method to do so. We are so hated in this world for what we did and the fact we go around telling everyone else not to do it. We used an atomic bomb, a NUCLEAR WEAPON, then we go around the world and tell them to put away all nukes cuz NUKES IS BAD. And don't give me "We don't do that the UN does that." Anyone who has read a more definitive history book can tell you the United Nations was founded as an American/British institution. I mean come on you may as well replace the N with an S and just be honest about who's calling the shots.
I love my country, but I hate our values. We are the kings of saying one thing and doing another. Funny thing is when i was taught history that was the same reason we didn't want to be under British rule. Their inability to keep a promise, their lack of respect for us and most of the lands they ruled at the time, and our need to be free of someone telling us what to do with the land that we had called our own. There is so much hypocrisy with how things are run I've completely ventured of the subject onto something else and back round again several times. Its so hard not to rant about the way things are, were, and continue to be. My favorite thing is all the differing opinions our country has about itself. Everyone's experience is different. I've lead a pretty easy life not really having to struggle or fight to hard for some of the things I've gained while still being denied so many others. I have known people who've had to shovel shit all their life just to get a taste of what had been handed to me and yet I know many more that have had so much more then i can ever even hope to achieve placed upon them without lifting a finger. Ask anyone of these different groups and they'll all have a different tale to tell. I think that's what i love about this country most, at least we are allowed to tell it.
So No i have no interest in living anywhere outside of here and I truly do HOPE for a change, but I just don't see it really happening. Not today not tomorrow not anytime soon really. Call me cynical, negative, crazy what have you. I just see it as speaking the truth. I'm happy the Bush era is over. I've been looking forward to a change of pace. All i want is a president who can speak the truth and care for his country. I think every president has had a little bit of the second part some more then others, but seeing as they have always been POLITICIANS you will never see the first part fulfilled. I can promise you that much. As the saying goes "TRUTH will SET YOU FREE!" what most people don't know is the second part of the saying which states "BUT a LIE WILL GET YOU ELECTED!"

Thoughts on the go

This is the first of hopefully many on the go entries. I have set myself up with a mobile blog account now I should have no problems keeping up with this my favorite blog. Sometimes you just can't access a cpu when inspiration strikes but that shall no longer be a problem. So watch out world cuz you are about to catch an earful.

2009

well its a new year people and that equals a new opportunity to express new thoughts and emotions. Yes I ended '08 with a bang which is leading me to believe in a better tomorrow. My wife and I (it feels so good to be able to say that) have alot of goals set for 2009 and in the end I whole heartedly believe we will reach them. So happy New Year to all hope 09 brings more pleasures and less pain for EVERYONE

OK that's enough of that Now for the sporting news. I loved the last week of the Regular season in the NFL. I knew it was going to shape up to be a good one and I tell you last Sunday didn't disappoint. Saw the Eagles rise to the occasion against a collapsing Dallas squad, I gotta say I was expecting much more of a Fight out of them there COWBOYS then we got. I enjoyed watching Chad Pennington and the Dolphins march past the Jets who so did him wrong. And as much as Bob Costas was trying to say the Jets did the right thing in the whole Farve vs Pennington QB debacle I know in his heart of hearts he has to realize the attaining of Farve was so not the right move. I love that we just all witnessed a season where an 11-5 New England Patriots team misses the playoffs. I mean 11 - 5 and not getting to see the post season that so blows my mind and I'm sure it'll cause the NFL to rethink the conference champ automatic bid format 8-8 AFC west team gets in over 11-5 AFC east team i mean COME ON, not to mention all the other 9-7 teams on the outside looking in blaming my 9-6-1 eagles when the cardinals got handed a horrible NFC west division. After such an enjoyable Sunday I never would have thought come the new year I'd be so disgusted with certain owners; Mangini wasn't the downfall of the jets and the Broncos can kiss my ass with "TIME FOR A CHANGE". A change of What Shanahan has been that teams identity for 14 freaking years. 2 Superbowls numerous playoff appearances the only coach to take anyone and turn them into an 1,000 yard rusher. I swear he could suit up my grandma and get her at least 3 100 yard games. All i know any team will be lucky to have him and I'd love to see him end up somewhere good. LORD please don't trap him in with the LIONS. I'd love to see that franchise turn around, but I think there is a better chance of the entire state of Michigan imploding in the suck hole that is Ford field.

2009 will be an interesting year for us all and I wish everyone the best
