Last Break

This day has lead to some major revelations. For 1 its clear this place believes us to be either sheep or children.  2 the only way to be happy here is to move on from a default position in the herd and gain access to a new departments pasture. And 3 moving on is easier said then done as so few positions exist outside the heard when one opens up its a stampede for FREEDOM.

All that aside its still a pretty decent job with nice people decent pay (well only when you count the available bonuses) and opportunity for growth. Now if only they would allow me to grow.

Must be the weather

As these foggy, cloudy, stormy days wear on I find myself feeling downright gloomy and just a little bit moody. So I was very excited to have had a day full of sun on this my favorite day of the week. Friday is such a glorious day when you have it off.

So on this day while the sun was out I made sure the wife & I took full advantage of the available sunshine. Now we didn't do anything to big just a store run and the tempting of fate with a hopefully lucky lotto ticket.

For now I will hope and pray for the return of the sun as well as praying for a much needed lotto win as I'm tired of being in this town and am definitely ready to be on a house hunt with the wife in our dream location with a mind blowing budget is that too much to ask?

Lady Sovereign said it best...

Love me or hate me either way makes no difference to me.  Life goes on whether you are a fan of mine or even if you just can't stand me. Personally I don't know how anyone could just not stand me. I mean I think I'm a pretty good time. I totally understand how someone could just not get me but to have a real problem with me is mind blowing. Life is full of characters I'm just happy to be one of the cast.

MLK Day has come and gone

So sitting here I find myself thinking on what Dr King's amazing life has done for me. You must realize there is more to the struggle for equality then just the major steps. We all know black men & women are doctors and lawyers and now we finally see the opportunity to be President.

I'm not thinking of these major things mind you I'm singing MLK's praises on a more personal level. My life is the fruition on Dr King's dream. I went to school in a completely mixed environment ok not so much an even mix but mixed nonetheless. My high schools motto was all about acceptance of others and my yearbook shows they back up their word. I've dated across all color lines, not to prove anything to anyone simply because those were the people I liked. My bestfriends are white and gay and the best people I've ever known. Yes my life is all about accepting and being open to people no matter who they are. I like to think the American dream may one day truly be open to all no matter of what race, gender, religious affiliation or any other things we use to keep us separate from one another.

I may not be so wise but I do know this we are all created equal and I feel its time all this equality to be looked on equally. No haves and have-nots just a world full of happy people with no hate or ignorance just simply a world of people living there lives free and as they see fit, but that's another topic entirely.

To sum things up I'm a happy black man raised in a world that was open to me where I could date who I wanted to, a world I could go to school wherever I felt like attending, a world where I can befriend whoever I see fit. Yes my friends MLK Jr day is a lot more then just a random sometimey holiday in January. No its a day that should be observed a day for reflection on how far we've come and how far we still have to go

My Picks

Ok as we close in on the Superbowl I realize I have not proclaimed my totally awesome picks as to who was going. I see it this way this years title is the Saints to lose don't care who they face the only team that can beat them is themselves. So I can see a Saints Colts Superbowl but I think the Chargers are in a good position to shock everyone and make it to the Championship where they will be DESTROYED by the saints. Any questions.

Break in the clouds

So happy the fog finally broke. It has been so nice seeing some blue in the sky for a little bit over the last couple of days. Weather like this reminds me how bad I want to get out of this area. Huntington Beach is looking better and better, but I do realize that expensive ass city is pretty much a pipe dream.

Don't get me wrong, the SoCal plans are moving forward as planned it has just been full of delays. These delays are becoming bigger and bigger pains in my side. We should have been down in SoCal with all our friends and families. I know its going to happen I'm just very quickly losing my patience. I want to be in a place of our own like NOW!!! But alas I know that will not happen without an epic lottery win or a kind elderly millionaires help.

So as I sit here and wait for my badly needed monetary blessings to come rolling in I will put my head down and keep moving forward. All we need in life is to keep progressing and never look back. Forward is the way to go and its the only direction I know.

Google Life feels so right

As stupid as it may seem I am so happy to say I have officially been totally GooGed out. Chrome, Wave, my brand new Hero and next up the operating system. Gotta say I'm living a techie dream.

So I truly know me tapping on this phone constantly updating or writing something is gonna push the Wife over the edge but until that day I'm gonna soak up every bit of this Google tech goodness.
